A giant killing spree was apparent in the aftermath of the 2008 Rip Curl Search held "Somewhere" in Indonesia, with Bruce Irons winning his first WCT final against Hawaiian countryman Fred Patacchia. Bruce took down Fred in a convincing, down to the wire heat with a final score of 17.66 to Fred's 11.16.

The view from the VirtualTasmania Arthurs Lake webcam captured the Arthurs Lake boat ramp covered in snow today, with Liawenee reaching a recorded -1.7 degrees C minimum temperature at 8am this morning..
As the day progressed, and the clouds cleared (somewhat), the snow started to melt and the Arthurs Lake webcam recorded the scene..
