Real-time wave and weather observations taken off the east coast of Tasmania near Maria Island have recently become available online. The publically available data includes signigicant wave height as well as air and water temperature.

Just as public hearings on the controversial Walker Corporation Pty Ltd proposal to build a canal estate on the Ralphs Bay Conservation Area are set to begin, the proponent is writing its own "draft approval" for the project, according to information released on a Government website.
