The view from the VirtualTasmania Arthurs Lake webcam captured the Arthurs Lake boat ramp covered in snow today, with Liawenee reaching a recorded -1.7 degrees C minimum temperature at 8am this morning..
As the day progressed, and the clouds cleared (somewhat), the snow started to melt and the Arthurs Lake webcam recorded the scene..

COOLANGATTA, Australia (Friday, June 27, 2008) - The news from ASP Women’s Tour Manager Brooke Farris that Sally Fitzgibbons has already secured qualification on the 09 Championship Tour is definitely worth closer inspection.
In much the same fashion that Jordy Smith and Dane Reynolds tore through the ribbons to qualify for the Men’s Tour at their first serious attempt, the young surfer from NSW, Australia, has cut a swathe through the ranks to set a world record pace for qualification.

TAVARUA, Fiji (Tuesday, June 3, 2008) - Eight-time ASP World Champion Kelly Slater (USA) has won his third event on the 2008 ASP World Tour after eliminating C.J. Hobgood in the final of the Globe Pro Fiji held in six foot (two metre) waves at Cloudbreak.
Slater remains the only member of the ASP Top 45 to win an event this year – the last ASP World Tour event held in Tahiti was won by a wildcard.

Speakers: Christian Bell of the Tasmanian Conservation Trust will explain why marine protected areas (MPAs) matter and what benefits they provide. Tom Baxter, Lecturer in Corporate Governance at the University of Tasmania will speak on the positive role governments can and should play in developing marine reserves. Jon Bryan will show stunning underwater photography of the marine life of Tasmania's Bruny Bioregion and explain why the south-eastern corner of Tasmania is the "jewel in the crown" of Tasmanias marine environment. Cassy O'Connor (Save Ralphs Bay) will be M.C.
