EAGLEHAWK NECK WEBCAM OFFLINE AS OFFICERS MESS DUE FOR DEMOLITION

After over seven years of service the CoastView Eaglehawk Neck webcam, hosted by the Officers Mess, broadcast its final images at noon on Sunday, April 13th, 2008. The popular service attracted over 100,000 page-views every year from visitors across the globe. The camera was removed due to the impending demolition of the Officers Mess which will be replaced with a 4 lot subdivision.

HOBART CBD FIRE CAUGHT BY WEBCAM

By now most Southern Tasmanian residents would be aware of todays historic Myer building fire in the Hobart CBD. The 6:30pm image from Coastview's Hobart camera provides some insight into the extent of the blaze with smoke and fire clearly visible from the Lindisfarne location.

In July 2005 CoastView launched the "CoastView Classifieds" - a free online marketplace for members of the CoastView community. With membership now over 1,000 our Classified service has seen unprecedented growth as Tasmanians swap and sell private goods amongst a targeted market.
To cater to burgeoning interests from commercial interests we have now launched "mini-stores" within the "CoastView Classifieds" to provide a marketplace for select Tasmanian businesses.

COASTVIEW COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP ROCKETS PAST 1,000

Over seven years ago CoastView launched Tasmania's first web portal based on a webcam network . In January 2005 we upped the ante by launching our community concept, building an online coastal community for Tasmanians by Tasmanians .
2007 has seen membership in the CoastView community explode with nearly 200 new registered members since January 1st. And our total membership has recently burst through the 1,000 mark.
