Thanks to generous funding from the Bay of Fires Character Cottages Pty Ltd, operated by John Barnett and Marion Thorn, the popular Bay of Fires Webcam is back and better than ever.

The Bay of Fires Webcam page, one of many in the VirtualTasmania network, has attracted over 11,500 page-views every month from across the globe.

Given the volume of related email in our trusty CoastView admin’s inbox, this popular view of a splendid section of the Tasmanian coast has been sorely missed in the past few months as the CoastView service team overcame a nearly impenetrable set of logistical and communications issues that were, unfortunately, beyond our control.

CoastView Enterprises and VirtualTasmania.com are more than pleased to announce that, with the support of the Bay of Fires Character Cottages, we are again able to bring the world this special patch of Tasmania on your desktop.

A big thank you to John & Marion for the new webcam - allows me to check on the weather the family are having in St Helens also wonderful memories of our holiday in ‘88

A sojourn to the Bay of Fires in 2001 was a memorable part of my second trip to Tasmania....I have the usual photos and maps to remind me of that special time, but the Bay of Fires webcam allows me, as my night descends, to view the day dawning over this beautiful bay and I am transported there once again!

Thanks for getting the cam back on line. Now my days at work are filled with beautiful pics of Tassies East Coast, and I just can’t wait to get back down there and go for a dive! Its great for checking conditions too before we head down the coast too! Well done!

The only problem is everytime i look at the cam its exactly the same - clear skies, sunny, blue water and flat ocean. You would think its some kind of paradise.

There is nothing better whilst you are working on your computer than to gaze at the most beautiful beach in the world and know when you are finished you can hop in the car and go for a walk along that beach.
