I think this is the blue soft board I bought last year. Some adds need pulling from this sight once SOLD.

G’day Bev (et al.),

Thanks for your patronage in the CoastView Classifieds - I hope you or your family are enjoying the soft-board?

The CoastView Classifieds have no fees, no deadlines, few restrictions, and are based on a traditional web-forum model.  They are essentially “self-service”.  This allows us to provide the public with a free online tool to sell their goods privately to a very targeted audience.

Unfortunately this “free, open community” model doesn’t allow us to hire staff to prune or manage the threads.  It is up to the “buyer & seller” to do the right thing and clearly edit the thread, and thread title where possible, to note the change in status of the “sale”.

We hope to be able to provide an improved system in the future.

Cheers,

Thomas Moore

Hi Skipper,
Thank you for a fine service, I apologise if my post sounded any less than grateful. I was not confident that I should try to update the post, but wanted to let other users know that I had made a successful purchase, and highlight the fact that users should try to keep their posts current.

Can purchasers update an ad status or only the thread iniator and thyself?
next time i shall try reminding the seller to update their add.

Looking for a longer, cheaper, softboard now, 8’ - 9’, if anyone has a used one to sell.

Today I was surprised to discover that several posts by “minimal2005” are from a mainland based surfboard wholesaler. Well, thats our Global Economy hey!

‘Happy here on the small island, Bevi’

Hi Bev,

Same here about mainland wholesalers giving the impression they are local.  FYI freight on boards from Sydney is about $80.  There are several wholesalers on ebay selling epoxy boards at lower prices than minimal2005.  I’ve just bought one to see what they are like.  A new beginners 7’6” mini mal sells for around $280-300 at auction, plus $80 freight, so the prices are good.  I’ve yet to receive the board so when I get it I’ll post here and let you know what it’s like.  There are also a lot of cheap new soft boards on ebay too.

Hi Bev,

Just got the board from the mainland, took about a week from the close of Auction to getting it here in Hobart.  The board itself looks fine except for some rough spots that looked like they’d sanded it with fine wet & dry, but that easily polished out with car polish.  I think they are factory seconds, but given they will be bumped on things probably doesn’t matter.  The shape is good, no weirdness, has good rocker and a lttle bit of concave.  All in all a good experience at a low price.
