COOLANGATTA, Australia (Friday, June 27, 2008) - The news from ASP Women’s Tour Manager Brooke Farris that Sally Fitzgibbons has already secured qualification on the 09 Championship Tour is definitely worth closer inspection.
In much the same fashion that Jordy Smith and Dane Reynolds tore through the ribbons to qualify for the Men’s Tour at their first serious attempt, the young surfer from NSW, Australia, has cut a swathe through the ranks to set a world record pace for qualification.

TAVARUA, Fiji (Tuesday, June 3, 2008) - Eight-time ASP World Champion Kelly Slater (USA) has won his third event on the 2008 ASP World Tour after eliminating C.J. Hobgood in the final of the Globe Pro Fiji held in six foot (two metre) waves at Cloudbreak.
Slater remains the only member of the ASP Top 45 to win an event this year – the last ASP World Tour event held in Tahiti was won by a wildcard.

The 2008 Paul Johannesen Trophy went down on the weekend in small fun waves at Roaring Beach, Nubeena. The 2-3 ft offshore waves were enough to get the competitors moving with some high performance surfing being put on show.

Sad but true. Car stereo thieves are operating in South Arm car parks, again...
The latest reported attack was Sunday 20th April in the North Goats car park and "the mess was appalling".

Launching a huge air to earn a last minute score and beat Bede Durbidge (AUS) in the final, the 36-year old has claimed his 36th event win and rung the bell for the third time.
